Evelyn advises private company clients on matters such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing and investments, corporate governance, intellectual property protection, licensing, manufacturing, distribution, agency, entity structure and related issues, corporate spin-outs and international transactions. She has wide ranging experience and brings a refreshing, results focused, pragmatic approach to the practice of law.
She has practiced in large, medium and boutique legal practices, finding that the latter gives her the most professional and personal satisfaction and flexibility. After practicing with Morris, Manning & Martin and Balboni, Ashley & Schoenberg, Evelyn founded and grew Red Hot Law Group, which quickly became a noted technology boutique law firm. She was also co-founder of Red Hot Venture Consulting, a strategic consulting firm and incubator for technology businesses. Red Hot Law was acquired by Long Aldridge & Norman, (now McKenna Long & Aldridge) in 2001 and Evelyn served as a Partner heading the Firm's technology practice. She left McKenna Long & Aldridge at the end of 2003 to form Trusted Counsel.
Prior to graduation from law school, Evelyn served on The Coca-Cola Company's mergers & acquisition team that created and took Coca-Cola Enterprises public. Her first employment out of college was as a tender offer corporate paralegal at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York in the early 80's.
She is a founding Board member of Who Ha Da-Da, Inc. a Georgia non-profit working to create a "community" that supports "outsider" folk artists in the Southeast through education of the public assistance in applying for research grants, participation in art shows and similar events, as well as group health and dental benefits (www.whohadada.org). Evelyn loves and collects art, choosing on the basis of what she likes, not what everyone says is art….
Since 2003, Evelyn has been an active member of Vistage (formerly, The Executive Committee) where she participates in a monthly CEO roundtable with 16 other CEO's and business owners. She is regular speaker on business legal issues and leadership.
Evelyn and her husband, Alan McKeon (www.alexanderbabbage.com) are avid travelers to both exotic and "usual suspect" locales.
